I have a Caswell Runyan cedar chest that I have tryed to find out any information about it. The only information that I have gotten so far is that if the number stamped on the bottom is under 6000 it was built before 1932. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know the value also for insurance purpose. Thanks
Re: 005 C32 is stamped on my Caswell Runyan cedar chest, ...
There is not alot of information about this company, it was just one of many making these chests after World War One. Values for them are comparable to those made by the best known maker "Lane".

The reason I thought my chest would be different than a Lane is because Caswell-Runyan was the 1st USA Co. to mass produce cedar chests in 1906. If anyone knows if there. Is there areĀ anyĀ antique appraisesrĀ inĀ the Ozark area or anywhere inĀ Ā Missouri , Arkansas, Oklahoma, orĀ eastern Kansas that may know about this chest I would pay to find out anything, You would think it would have been in an add or catalog at the time it was new
