Antique Sconce

Category
Lamps and Chandeliers
Condition
Good
Description

Found this beautiful sconce at an antique store.  Couldn't live without it.  I thought finding information on it would be pretty easy like other treasures I've found, but that's not proving to be the case.  It appears to be cast bronze with the name Max Schaffer Co. stamped on the back.  It also has a (serial?) number stamped on the back...P651.  No city or country of manufacture.

The only information that I've been able to find on it was an auction website where the auction ended a couple of years ago.  The item they had was identical to the one I have hanging on my wall.  The auction site simply stated that it was a wall sconce from a hotel in N.Y. in the 1930's.

Any information about this piece would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
