Silver Chopstick Set-Case

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

A Finely Incised Silver Ornamental Knife/Chopsticks : Jangdo Dagger from Korea, Choson period, 19th century,

This is an ornamental utensil knife set with chopsticks used used for emergencies in Choson Dynasty’s  society. The case and knife have beautiful carving. The handle and sheath are highly decorated. Measures 4 5/8” long after assembled. It’s in very good condition.

Choson dynasty Korean men and women wore silver knives hidden inside

their clothes near their chest in order to preserve their honor by suicide should

it become necessary. The chopsticks were for checking food for poison. The set was sometimes a gift of the bride’s in laws, indicating the strictness of a society that placed an extremely high value on fidelity and purity.

1959 Arkansas resident fishing license

Category
Other
Condition
Fair
Description

This is a 1959 Arkansas resident fishing license. It is all filled out, and has some yellowing and a small amount of diluted ink stain. It is encased in metal, and on the back of the license is a pin so that it could be pinned onto clothing. It is a nice piece of memorabilia. Has some minor rusting on metal that could be cleaned up quite easily. Thanks for looking and take care!

Sears one hundred year anniversary Liberty coin

Category
Coins and Currency
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is an interesting little "coin" that I have never run across until now. It has the face of the Statue of Liberty on its face and says "Liberty" at the bottom with a reference date of 1982, even though the main dates on the coin show up as 1986, the centinnial of Sears Co. Also on the front along the edge, it says "contains authentic material". On the back, it has the number 100 with "celebrating sears new century 1886-1986. The coin is almost quarter sized. Any help on the value of this coin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking and take care!

1999 American New Jersey quarter with a large bump or swell on it

Category
Coins and Currency
Condition
Good
Description

This is an unusual coin defect that has me wondering if it could be possible-even when I'm holding it in my hand. Everything about this quarter is normal except for the fact that George Washington has quite a large bump on his head. I'd like to know if this is for real, and about how many of these quarters were made with this defect. I'd also like to know if it has any significant monetary value. The front of the quarter is the only side affected- the back shows the normal New Jersey state scene. I'll try to get some better photos if necessary. Thanks for any help and take care!
