Description

I am trying to identify a Reuge Ste. Croix Music Box with a shadow box lid containing dried seeds and grains. It is wood with dove-tail corners (5.5 x 5.5 x 2.5") in very good to excellent condition. It plays "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" after cleaning and using WD40. There is no other number on the box, however the number on the barrel of the mechanism appears to be 5533. I would like to know about what year this was made and the estimated market value.

Category Music and Music Instruments
Medium Wood with Glass (or Plexiglass) on top of shadow box lid. Contains dried seeds/grains in the shadow box. Brass mechanism and Winding Key.
Distinguishing marks 5533 on barrel of mechanism
Reuge Ste. Croix
Made in Switzerland stamp (very light)
2 labels for music: 1) I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing 2) Love Story (obviously an error as the other tag is stuck loosely on top)
Condition Excellent
Size and dimensions of this item 5.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches
Date Period 1970-1980
Weight 15.2 oz.
History Found at a thrift store yesterday. Cleaned with canned air and WD-40. Mechanism works and plays "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing".
Price Paid (If known) $3.00
