My mother-in-law found the ring in a pocket of a jacket at a local used clothing store about 15 years ago. We tried unsuccessfully to return it to Larry Bird. His wife said she didn't want him to find out that she gave his favorite blazer to 'goodwill' so she told us to keep it. We had correspondence with Mr. Bird's representative at that time, a Mr. Bob Wolfe in Boston. I believe Mr. Wolfe has since passed away. We have kept the ring in a safety deposit box taking it out only to show family and friends. We have had much speculation over the years as to its worth.
