My painting is a 24x48in mountain landscape with a stream running
thru the middle of a forest at the base of the mountains. It is an oil painting set on canvas,
in its original decoratively carved dark cherrywood frame and
tan/taupe colored 1inch margins around the painting itself. It is
signed simply Antonio. The line that crosses the A in the artist's
name extends and turns into the n and subsequently finishes the
rest of his name in beautifully written cursive. It is In prestige condition
With little fading and no scuffs or tears or any physical damage. On the right vertical side of the frame, towards the bottom corner it says "24x48 NECHOEN MEXICO" . This painting was purchased by my great grandmother for my grandparents as a house warming gift when they purchased their first home. I believe it was bought at a starving artist type sale.

I would love to know the origin of the painting and history about the artist himself.

I have four paintings by this artist. The signatures are identical to the one on this painting. It's also clear that it's the same artist. I'm trying to learn the identity of the artist. What is the time period in which your great grandmother would have purchased the painting and the location? Any info would be appreciated.
