3D textured pictures by V.R. Moore

By Lproveaux13, 23 May, 2017
Description

I need help identifying these 3D textured paintings of The Citadel and Mulberry Plantation.  These Paintings are done in a  texture that gives it a 3D efffect (feels like Styrofoam under painting).  Sadly, the pictures do not display the effect of the 3D texture. The artist Signature looks like it is V. R. Moore '72 or '73 (92 or 93), which I don't think is a local Charleston Artist but I cannot find anything about the artist. They are a total of 6 of these type of artwork in a facility and I have 2 of them.  They all are of different historic places in and around Charleston, SC. I was always told that they were commissioned but the year stated on artwork states a much older date The Picture is heavily framed paintings and the back of them is plywood and looks like the artwork was done on top of the plywood with the frame around the wood.  With Frame they are 5'x10" long and 3'10" tall.  With frame and backing it must weigh about 70-100 lbs.  The framing is pretty scuffed up and will need to be restored.  The Citadel artwork has written on the back "The Citadel 171 Moultrie St. 1842".The Mulberry Plantation has written on the back "Built Ca. 1711 Mulberry Plantation".   Any help identifying these paintings and the worth would be greatly appreciated.
