Description

Greetings ! I would like to sell this antique Buddha statue i got from a fleamarket in Amsterdam. I dont have much info about it , just the hight and the weight. Some people who saw it told me its around 350 years old. If you could help me with any info , i would be very grateful !

Well, it came from china, unfortunately it is a fake. It was made around the late 20th century, if this was a genuine one it would be much more delicately carved, this one is wrather coarse and rough, the gold leaf was intentionally spplied to immitate an ancient buddhist custom of gold leafing important statue. Their was never a second arm, it was carved without one to immitate a salvaged antique damaged over the years. If it were real, id would be worth thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands. It still has value as a decorator piece, although not much more than $100. Most asian antiques these days are fakes, sorry.
