Description

This Antique Buffet has been in my family since the 1940s but I never learned anything about it.  I have tried to identify it but I haven't been successful.  It is part of a dining room set of which the dining table has been described as Antique Elizabethan Jacobean style carved oak, with carved legs.  The set includes the aforementioned table-a draw leaf refectory dining table, 4 carved chairs and 2 carved armchairs, all with the same carved legs, and the buffet.  Any information or specifics that you can provide to me will be greatly appreciated.  I can also text images to you so that they can be better visually manipulated.

It's Jacobean Revival, but sadly somebody has lopped off the bottom of the legs in an attempt to lower the height of it. Most of these date from the second quarter of the 20th century.

Dearest Lovejoy - I would NEVER have imagined that this is the case. Thank you tons for your input. The dining table does have bun feet and the chairs are not straight legged either; they appear to be "turned" style legs. Great insight, Lovejoy.  Any additional data you may have will always be appreciated.
