Re: Antique chair
Your chair is a neo classical period side chair. It was part of a larger dinning suite of chairs. The back looks like a Roman type coloumn. The period is also known as Empire. Your chair is no doubt Mahogany and looks to be original finish.IT is quite possible there was a hand caned seat on the chair when new. Typicaly they used silk tie on cushions on these chairs over the cane seat. Current value should be between $100-$200
