Antique Desk

By raymrtn, 21 December, 2014
Description

I believe this to beb18th century french provincial writing desk, I am no expert. Ive seen a few that are simular to mine go for a lot of money, but they seem a lot smaller than mine. I believe its 30" tall, 5'6" wide 2'10" deep and heavy. The bottom of center drawer needs to replace. And I need to redo the face of center drawer as well as to the left of left top drawer. And of course redo the top.No big dents or scratches. I will take every bit of knowledge and no how you can give me. My wife's is pushing me to just sell now like it is but if its worth what I think it is , I might just build bigger dog house and get comfortable because Id probably have to see it to the end. I should have taken pictures of slotted screws. I haven't seen one picture of desk quite like this. If you could confirm what type of wood desk is and what is other type that wraps around front. If possible, could you tell me what I may get like it is and what I could when you invision it back to its former big mean bold self. A chair also came with it. I'm going to send it thru next. I believe its early 1900s. You would never believe what I payed for the table and chair. Tried to give him more but he wouldn't have it. Let's just say it was little more than what its going to cost me to take wife to movies to make up for finishing desk if its worth what I think it could be. Thank each and every one of you for your time.
