This is an antique dining set that I am 99% sure is from Biederman Furniture Co. out of St. Louis, MO. We bought this set awhile back with a house in Missouri. The number 317 is stamped on the bottom of the table (looks like it might be from the factory?) and there is writing on the bottom of the chairs reading (288-1 over 1228, 288-1 and 288-1 W (These may be from auction?).) I could not find identifying markings on these table and chairs, but recently came across a very similar set with the following stamped on the bottom of the chairs (Biederman Furniture Co. Springfield, MO No. 515.4859.WINE.) We also have 2 bedroom suites from that house that appear to be from Biederman. I don't know the exact age, but a note from the previous owner says they were reupholstered in April of 1970. I am guessing them to be from the mid 50s to mid 60s. The table measures approx. 40" W x 78" L (w/18" leaf.) I would consider the set to be in good condition aside from the 2 broken chaircs, see photos. The finish also shows some wear and scratches. The table has double legs at each corner as well as 2 legs in the middle. There are 6 chairs total one of which is a captains chair. I am curious of the value as a set as well as for the individual chairs or table.
