Description

Hi,

Dining Room Suite consisting of a Dining Table, Chairs, Side Board and China Cabinet.  Furniture Marked - "Craftsmanship Fine Period Furniture.  Made in Canada.  Hespeler Furniture Company Ltd., Ontario".  Made of Walnut.

Table: Dining Table is like a Pub Table.  The top center section lifts up and the two sides slide out and back in for extensions.  Top has two side by side panels of matched burl veneer. Around the edges of the table is a gadrooned motif.  There are six legs.  Two of the legs are in the center to support the extensions.  The legs are decorated with, from top to bottom, a ball to ring to a floral medallion to an urn, ring and a block on bun foot.  The stretcher is a ribbed and fluted crossed braced with the center having a diamond framed out shape with the same motif on the central two legs.  They are flanked by finials on the cross braces of a semi-ball with thumbnail bevelling and a ball finial with bun feet. 64" L x 44" D closed.   Approximately 108" L with extensions. 28 1/4" H.

Side board: Side Board matches the Dining Table and Chairs in Style.  There is a back rail with fluted motif.  Central medallion design of  a semi-circle with a mofified carved acanthus leaf below.  Basically dome shaped.. There are two central stacked drawers flanked by a cabinet door on each side.  Above the doors and the drawers there is a chain of block with elongated egg in the center of the block motif. The top drawer has a divider with a separator of an upper drawer that slides back with felt on each divided side for silver. Drawer fronts, in the center,  have matched burl veneer.  Drawers are all framed out.  Side cabinet doors have an inset panel in the center that is octagonal shaped.  Int the center of this panel,  there is another panel that is octagonal shaped.  On each corner of this central panel are carved with acanthus leaves surrounded by a semi-circle.  On the bottom of the side board is the same gadroon border.  There are four front legs matching the table legs with back legs being of block design.  There are a total of eight legs.  There are two main stretchers that frame out each set of four legs under the cabinet doors and one long back stretcher.  77" L x 22 3/4" D x 41 34" H.

China Cabinet: China Cabinet matches the rest of the suite.  Top section of the cabinet has long central center with sides being reticulated twice on each side.  This portion is applied to the base but is recessed.  Top is reverse cornice molded.  Below is the same block with inner elongated egg motif.  There are two central wooden doors.  These doors match in style with the cabinet doors of the side board.  On the reticulated sides, they have wide ribs with the bottom and top having an inset elongated thumbprint that are approximately 5 3/4" long. The interior of the cabinet doors has two wooden shelves plus base.  The bottom section is rectangular in shape.  There are two side by side drawers that are framed out with same matched burl veneer.  Above each drawer, there is the same block with inner egg motif.  Below the drawers there is the same gadrooning design. Below are four legs and bun feet that match the other pieces with a framed out stretcher.  48 " W x18 3/4" D x 65 3/4" H.
