Many of these chalkware pieces were sold as blanks for the customer to paint. This began around 1977. So I would imagine this was a customer painted blank. Earlier pieces had been painted by him and his brother.
Circa 1980 - 1985 California United States.
Est Value: $150 - $250 US depending on market and demand. This piece would appeal to people with horse, the west and cowboy interest. I would insure it on your house contents insurance for $300 - $400 US. I would appreciate your feedback on my valuation. Thanks for sharing ... very cool ...
