I too have a Nightwatch Lamp. Can you tell me anything about the history & how much they are worth? It has a pistol, and a barrel with the date 1876 written on it as well as an antique lantern... I'd appreciate any help in discovering this unique lamp's history. Thanks! Cami

I too have a Nightwatch custom made lamp i my possession. I am curious as to the history & its worth. It has the original lamp shade, made of real wood, rifle, barrel with 1876 inscribed,... Would you happen to know anything more about these lamps? Thanks!

Hello, I can tell you for certain that these lamps pictured were made by Nightwatch Lamp Co in Claverack NY. I worked there from '74 - '77 and made or refinished the parts on these lamps. the bootjack with 1888 is cast plaster, the pewter plate and spoon were new and treated with various chemicals to replicate aging. The only thing actually old on these two lamps is the shoe last. Im pleased to see that someone is still enjoying these lamps. Frank

Hi Frank,

I just purchased a night watch lamp at a flea market in Jewett City, Ct.

It is comprised of all old hand tools, old block plane, caliper, lantern wood vice, draw plane, wood bit and chisel. Can you tell me when this was made and an approximate value. I love this thing.

Thanks, Barry

I, too, have a Nightwatch Lamp Company lamp. Mine has a real violin on it and a candle. I was saddened to learn the factory no longer exists. I need an original lamp shade for it. Does anyone know where to buy a similar lampshade, or something very close to the original? If so, please e-mail me at [email protected]. A family member also has two of their lamps! There's nothing more beautiful. Thanks.

I just acquired the apothacary one...It is identical but has some variations.....there is a pestle instead of the pill splitter tool and a lid for the mortar which is attached to the base between the mortor and the candle....Anybody have any guesses on worth?

My dad has owned the lamp with the apocothary since the '70's. It has come up in recent discussions because we are also looking for a replacement shade.  He believes the lamp cost around $300 some 30 years ago.  I found it to be an intriguing piece as a child and would appreciate any information about the company, lamp or it's value.

Best, Amber
