Description

Hi there. I"m having trouble with this antique Parian doll with very broad shoulders. She's blond with blue eyes, about 20" tall and 5.5" broad at the shoulders. Her body is muslin and she appears to be stuffed with very fine sawdust, almost like splinters. Her arms are attached 2" below the shoulder in a straight horizontal stitch and are ceramic from a little above the elbow to the hand. Her legs are ceramic from a little below the knee to the shoe. She has painted pink socks with a blue bow at the top and raised black painted dots along the outside with black shoes. Her baby doll is muslin with raised brown knots stitched for eyes and a raised red knot stitched for the mouth.

I bought her at an estate sale. I have tried to research her and can't find one like her and can find no marks. I have felt down her back and front below the muslin and feel and see no marks anywhere. What are the dolls called that have their own baby doll? Also any history, maker, age, or value information, or good descriptions and lingo that I should use to describe her to someone that knows about dolls and might be looking for one like her would be so very appreciated.
