Antique Porcelain Lamp (Made in Italy) Q's???

By DavidP81, 11 November, 2012
Description

Recently bought an old porcelain lamp that has gold trim all over with a signature on bottom that has some numbers then the name Chelsea, then "Made Italy" hand written on it. I have no idea what this lamp is, and haven't been successful looking online for something similar. A few sites seem to mention something about Capodimonte, but I'm no expert at all with antiques, I just like buying them here recently.

I will attach a picture to show the signature in the bottom, but also there's a number written in the top half of the globe shapeddome lid for this lamp with the number 41 (I think, could be wrong.)

This lamp is porcelain, hand painted with flowers, gold trim, and has a real old electrical cord to it. I'm just real curious if anyone has ever seen one like this, and any ideas on what it may be. Even of it turns out not to be anything significant, it's very unique and everyone that's seen it loves it. Thank you in advance for your help and advice. Any advice is greatly appreciated as to what kind of lamp this was that I have!

Thank you ever so kindly!

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Medium
Porcelain, gold trim
Distinguishing marks
"T•2g Chelsea Made Italy" is what's signed on the inside of the base of lamp. Also in top half of porcelain globe, there's a mark of either a 4 and a 1 or vice versa or may not represent numbers...
Condition
Excellent
Size and dimensions of this item
Estimated to be about 1 1/2' tall and 10" wide- These aren't real accurate but is my best guess. The lamp is round like a ball or sphere with a base and a crown topper
