Antique Shadow Box Wooden Picture Frames

Description

I have two 16" x 13" Shadow box style all solid wood picture frames for photographs. The matting in the is also solid wood with an oval cut out to fit an 8" x 10" photo perfectly. Back pieces are solid wood. Not sure of the type of wood, but it is dark.

These are not  really shadow boxes, shadow boxes are deeper, like a thin display cabinet. Your pictures are too small to reveal much detail regarding their construction. That said most like this date from around World War One (1914-18). No huge value for them currently, the market last peaked for frames like this back in the late 1980's At auction the pair might go for $50.00.
