I wish I knew more, but there are no markings on the furniture indicating the builder or origin. I do not even know what type of wood this is made from. All of the hinges and screws are original, but there appears to have been a lock and key mechanism on the right door that has been lost over time. My parents bought this in the late 1970s early 80s for about 5000 in Canadian dollars. It is very heavy and very old. I want to sell it, but we have no idea how much to ask for it so maybe someone out there knows more about the furniture based on it's design in the pictures and can let me know? There are 6 shelves (including the bottom) spaced about 11 inches apart.
