Description

I had an appraisal done on My statue that was not a good one. It was an uneducated guess at best.

If the person who did this appraisal can't give me any better information than the original appraisal

then i would like my money refunded. I have been waiting with no resolve.

After a search on the internet, I got the results for the statue I ask for an appraisal on. The appraisal I received from this website was completely wrong. The value of a new statue is $59.00 nothing like the appraisal I was given at $250-$350.  I would like my money refunded.  Now.

P.S.  I am very disappointed in this website as I had other appraisals done, now I question them all.

Chinese figures like these are still in production, with wholesale values all over the map depending on size and quality, generally the older examples sell for more in the secondary market ( Antique and Decorator stores). Values for appraisals are based on a number of metrics, the two main ones are based on what comparable examples have sold for at reputable auction houses and what we would retail a comparable piece for based on our mark ups (50% plus) . I've included four examples from sales at auction for comparable 20th century Chinese figurines, all four sold in the $100.00- $200.00 range, which to a dealer would be considered a wholesale value they would mark up 50% -100% for their retail price. In the case of your figurine the value provided is what we would retail a comparable for for, in the $250.00- $350.00 range.

I have seen that site before, they cater to the Decorator market. Antique dealers buy from companies like this and Alibaba wholesale to fill out inventory.  An item listed for $97.00 will often retailed for twice that by the Dealer,  also note most of the figurines they list are out of stock.
