Description i have what appears to be a drawing/sketch with some paint also. In pencil it is signed Ariel Moscovici 75-6 in the bottom right hand corner. There is also 2/12 written in pencil on the lower left hand corner. It seems to be on some kind of paper and it is taped onto like a cardboard frame where the top piece opens and has like the empty window in the center so that when you close it you see the drawing. I found this in my closet. I bought it from a yard sale at one time or another and it has been in my closet every since. I forgot i had it. Any information would be great. thanks! sorry the pics weren't better.

I actually found an email for him off of his official site. This morning, after 2 days i got an email back from him and it is his etching. He said it's a piece he did when he was still a student in paris. He said the 2/12 is the series and the 75-6 was the year, but he said when he gets back home he is going to check the exact year he made it and let me know!!! i'm excited! What do you think this means? He was also curious to know how i obtained it.

I'd concur with the artists' opinion - The 2/12 indicates that your etching is #2 (the second one 'produced') in a series of 12 etchings of the same subject . The date is June , 1976 . There would be no rational reason for an artist to add inaccurate series/date 'data' to an artwork . Good research so far ( by you ) , kellytrav !

Thank you for your input. However, I never doubted that what he told me was incorrect. I was just wondering if there may be any value? Not that i'm selling it but would just like to know. It is an original etching from when he was still a student in Paris. From what I can see, he is pretty famous for his work! It's just an interesting find and I would like to no more about it.
