Autographed Bee Gees 1975 Concert Program - Main Course

By jaysyn1976, 30 June, 2025
Description

This was a 1975 Bee Gee tour book passed around backstage or after a show, it’s likely that multiple band members, touring musicians, and crew signed it.  As well as a signature which chat gpt says resembles the Bee Gees, Robin Gibb signature.

Category
Autographs
Distinguishing marks
Dennis Byron

His name is clearly written in one image: “Thanks for everything / Love / Dennis Byron.”

Dennis Byron was the drummer for the Bee Gees during their peak years in the mid- to late 70'S.

● Alan Kendall
"Love Alan Kendall"

Lead guitarist for the Bee Gees.

You can spot his name and bio in one of the pages, and there's a signature near his picture.

● Geoff Westley

Musical director and keyboardist.

His signature appears along with his photo and a note: “To the lovely Linda / No.1 kisser on stage! / Geoff Westley.”

Additional Signatures:

You also have a page with multicolored waves behind a photo of the Bee Gees performing, signed by multiple people. These include:

● Blue Weaver (keyboardist)
"Lots of Love, Blue"

● Arif Mardin (producer)

Thanks for the close-up!

● Bruce Aitken” –
Bruce Aitken was a session drummer who played with various artists, though he's not a core Bee Gees member. It’s possible he was part of the extended crew or band lineup.

● Middle Inscription:

“Thanks for the banana sandwiches”
This is written in a different hand than the name above or below. It seems like a humorous or personal message—very likely added by someone on the tour or in the band.

● Robin Gibb
Here are a few identifying clues:
1. The sweeping loops and long strokes in the signature match Barry Gibb's known signature style from that era.

2. and the surname has loops consistent with the letter s "Gibb"-- especially the bold "B" and trailing flourish.

Autographed 1975 Bee Gees "Main Course" Tour Concert Program

Item Description

This item is a 1975 Bee Gees tour program from the "Main Course" tour, a pivotal era in the band's career when they were transitioning to a more R&B/disco sound, producing hits like “Jive Talkin’”. The program is not only a vivid piece of Bee Gees history—it has also been signed by several key band members, musicians, crew, and associates.

Historical Significance

  • Main Course (1975) marked a crucial turning point in the Bee Gees' career, leading them to become global icons of the disco era.
  • This program celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Gibb brothers’ performing career.
  • Memorabilia from this era—particularly personalized or backstage-used items—are highly collectible due to the Bee Gees' enduring legacy and massive cultural impact.

Autographs Identified & Tentative Authentication

Confirmed Signatures:

  1. Dennis Byron – Drummer during their peak disco years. Clear, full signature: “Thanks for everything / Love / Dennis Byron.”
  2. Alan Kendall – Lead guitarist. Signed: “Love Alan Kendall.”
  3. Geoff Westley – Musical director and keyboardist. “To the lovely Linda / No.1 kisser on stage!”
  4. Blue Weaver – Signed “Lots of Love, Blue” with “Blue Weaver – Sound” in another location.
  5. Arif Mardin – Renowned producer, worked with the Bee Gees in this period.
  6. Bruce Aitken – Not a Bee Gees core member but known as a session drummer. Possibly involved with support acts or stage crew.

  8. Bob – Signed “W/ good sounds – Love Bob” – possibly technical or support crew.
  9. Others: “Thanks for the banana sandwiches” – informal, humorous, suggesting backstage familiarity.

Possible Robin Gibb Signature:

  • One signature (shown close-up) bears a resemblance to Robin Gibb’s handwriting and stylized "R" and looping "b" and "G".
  • Based on comparison to verified Robin Gibb autographs, this is plausibly authentic, but would require handwriting expert validation for official confirmation.

Condition

  • Overall Condition: Good. Some light creasing and edge wear.
  • Pages are intact and vibrant.
  • Autographs are legible and placed throughout various pages.
