Blake sailboat painting

By keberdam, 26 February, 2011
Description

Very large (roughly 5' x 6') oil on canvas painting of a few sailboats.  There is some raised paint (looks kind of like stucco) for the waves. I know it is at least 20 years old, but other than that I know very little about it.  There is a signature in the bottom left corner that says "Blake".  I've included a picture of the whole artwork as well as the signature.

Re: Blake sailboat painting

We have the exact same painting hanging in my parents lounge (Auckland, NZ). It looks slightly lighter than yours, however also has the raised texture you speak of.

All I know is that my grandfather bought it back from a trip overseas.

Did you manage to find out any more about it?
