Cane Handle?

By horsen, 24 June, 2024
Description

We have no real idea of what this is. It has a screw hole at the bottom. We are guessing it's a cane handle, although it's very small.
We don't know what its made out of, either. Bone? Antler? Something else?
This was found at a garage sale and we know nothing about it.

Carved cane topper

Hmmm. You may be right about it being a topper for a cane. It's not bone or antler, the crosshatch patterning indicates that it may be ivory. I'll bet the monogram will polish up and be silver. Best to take it to a jeweler for identification. If it is ivory, it may be difficult to sell. There are all kinds of laws these days preventing the sale of ivory.
