Description

Antique (I think) chess set of Asian origin. Was an inheritance and I'm trying to figure out whether the fact that I literally cannot find anything exactly like it anywhere is a sign of rarity or obscurity. I want to sell it, but I would like to have some idea of its true value before I embark on getting it sold.

Thanks

I sold the exact same set and the pieces fit into fitted slots inside the chess board.  My set was missing a piece but a very skilled craftsman hand carved a matching piece (out of bone I think so the color was slightly off) long before I got it.  I sold my set in an antique mall for $500 but it sat for about 6 months before it sold.  This was probably 5 years ago.  However, now it is illegal to sell ivory so it may be more difficult to find a buyer.
