Cedar Lined Hope Chest with swing out drawers

By mudowitz, 20 October, 2012
Description

Hello,

Thank you for your time.  This trunk is a fantastic style, mid century art deco cedar lined chest.  Chest is constructed of all wood and veneer grain.  Interior offers rare four compartments. Two swing open for access to the solid cedar lined storage.

This is a piece of furniture that is imbued with the aromatic oils that make it smell lovely, keeps out bugs and makes stored items smell cedar fresh.

The cedar chest is in very good condition with only minor wear and one chip in the in the top right corner.  The age is mid century perhaps 1940's/50's.  The trunk measures approx: 19" d x 45" w x 22" h.

Thank you

Mitchell

Re: Cedar Lined Hope Chest with swing out drawers

It could be a Roos or a Cavalier or some other mfr chest.  It could have been manufactured anywhere between the 30s and 50s.

It is a gorgeous piece and it's great to be in such pristine condition.  I wonder if it was restored by a professional.  Regardless, you have a treasure there.  Enjoy having it.
