I purchased this from an assistant to an affluent elderly couple. They were getting rid of their storage unit and cleaning out their garages. The table has some peeling on the surface veneer, but there are no chips or scratches anywhere on the body of the table. The legs and joints are very tight and there aren't any alterations that I can see in it's construction. The signature is visible on the space behind the drawer. "H.Bayer" is legible, but I can't quite decipher or even guess what the word beneath it says.

Nice Victorian games table, examples like this one in need of some restoration often sell for about twice what you paid for yours.
