Re: clinchfield china 6 plates
The circle and crown mark for Clinchfield pottery, dates your plates prior to 1917, when it was later known as Southern Potteries, Inc. It was made in Erwin, TN. Its name coming from the Clinchfield railroad. As far as rarity, or value, it has more "family" or sentimental value than monetary value, as the pieces were probably part of a much larger set at the time. On the WS George plates, although you do not have a picture of the mark, based on what you have written, it sounds like a 1920's mark. WS george was a fairly large company , with a lot of the pottery coming out of East Liverpool, OH... again, nominal monetary value, but was more prolific than the Clinchfield pieces. .
