The Henry Ford Museum Reproduction Program was the first of its kind to faithfully produce important, historic tall case clocks beginning in the early 1930's. This clock is a reproduction of one made by Thomas Jackson in Preston, Connecticut, circa 1760-1770. Made of choice tiger maple, the hood is embellished with whales' tail motif and has three finials resting on fluted plinths. The beautifully proportioned case also features a scalloped waste and intricately cut out baseboard. The solid brass face features delicate scroll work and has a fully functional second hand. This clock has an eight-day movement with Westminster chimes, chiming on the quarter hour.
