Description
This is a desk. I am not sure how old it is or what it was used for.
All the pieces are present. One door has been taken off and the original hinges are still attached to the side. There is minor damage caused by someone who tried to move it as one piece.
There are three main pieces. Two sides and the central desk.
The left side has the door removed and contains sliding draws of varying heights. The right side has the door attached and two large draws and these draws are segmented. Each side has a draw at the top which is separate to the draws contained behind the doors. These draws are lined with green felt. The tops of the sides lift up and contain compartments lined with green felt.
The central part attaches to the sides by sitting on a small rail and the screwed into place this draw is not lined with felt. There is a “splash back” for want of better terminology, that attaches to the central part when everything is assembled. The pieces are heavy and the timber looks great.
In the photos I have images that include measurements.
I would like to know what this desk may have been used for please. I would like to have it restored if it is valuable. Any information is appreciated.
