Desk

By Anonymous (not verified), 10 February, 2009
Description

We bought this in 1988, at that time it had been in the family for over 100 years. We bought it for 100.00 at auction and when people found out it was family they were bidding against they quit so we could buy it.

Can anyone tell me anything at all about this? The only marking I could find was on the bottom of the middle drawer and it says   0.115-208-8

Re: Desk

Your desk is not an antique, it's a reproduction in the Colonial Revival style. Comparable pieces have been made since the 1920's and remain in production to this day. Based on the construction details it's unlikely this desk predates the 1930's. Value as is, about $200.00.
