Early 20th century dresser and vanity
I'm still trying to come up with what to call the style of your pieces. They've got some Renaissance and Jacobean Revival going on (to me). I think you're right about the time period and veneers. It's hard to tell from photos.
May bring $200 each at auction. A little more for the vanity if you have the coordinating seat.
