Duncan Phyfe (?) Dropleaf Pedestal Clawfoot Table w/leaf

By robinpatch, 29 August, 2009
Description

My stepmother gave me this table. It had been outside for an unknown period of time, and I stripped it and refinished it. But, I only refinished one dropleaf and the top of the table, since this is all that's visible the way I have it positioned in my apartment. I also refinished the legs (but they probably need more stripping and refinishing). The table is solid wood with a wood veneer. The veneer has a few small chips around the edges but is basically in good shape. I have no idea what kind of wood it is.

This table has two dropleafs, as well as a center leaf that stores under the table. The center leaf rotates around a metal rod, so you never actually remove the leaf when you want to use it. The dropleafs are supported by hinges that lock into place. The table also has two pedestals and clawfeet.
The slide is stamped with "Jefferson Woodworking Co." The only other markings are the numbers 28, 58 and "No. 40" on the underside of the table. I would like to sell this table (I have a 2 year old and the table is not compatible with our needs) and I want to know how much to list it for.

My stepmother also gave me three lyre-back chairs that have been professionally refinished. I have know idea what era these pieces are from, and I would love to know approximately what year they were built. I live in the Los Angeles area if anyone is interested in buying. Thank you for your feedback.
