Description The bottom has TRAY and 4839 ink stamped, and a sticker with style # 4839 serial # 337176 ED. ROOS COMPANY FOREST PARK ILLINOIS. The original roos sweetheart tag and string as well as warrany paperwork are still attatched showing a 3 year guarantee that expires march 1,1944 so I am to assume this was built in 1941 or earlier. The inside is perfect however the top shelf does havea crack. The top does have a waterstain. I do have pictures but the site will not allow me to upload them. Email [email protected]

The Roos company was in business from 1916 - 1951, operating in Forest Park Illinois. The company produced these chests in all the popular styles from Colonial to Art Deco. Most furniture in this style was produced during the mid 1920's until World War II. Values vary considerably for these chests, depending on quality of construction, wood type and how close they follow original period designs. Most today sell for under $300.00
