Edwardian or Victorian Music Cabinet

By Artbykris, 20 January, 2009
Description

I have been told that this piece is a music cabinet, and I can't find another one similar to it.  My great uncle had a number of fine antiques when he passed away in the 80's, and I received this piece.

It is a dark wood,  (Cherry? Mahogany?)and has an inlaid leather surface on top. The double doors are carved with an intricate design, but I'm not able to identify the designs.  There are two shelves inside to hold sheet music.  There is a single glass fronted door on the bottom.
