This was given to me by my Mother. She remembers her family using this at meal time. This would have been in the 1940s. It's a serving dish with a lid. In excellent condition. No major scratches, etc. It hasn't been used in 60 years. On the bottom reads: EGW&S International Silver sefe 9/57 Staffordshire 4412
