This four poster bed consists of four pieces. The headboard and footboard are almost identical. There are two side rails. I believe the wood is mahogany.
The bed was originally rope suspension. The holes in the side rails were "plugged" a long time ago (at least fifty years). You can see one of the plugged holes in the photo.
The side rails are threaded at either end. To assemble the bed, the rails are threaded simultaneously into the head and foot boards.
The bed is between twin and double in width, and shorter than a modern bed.
I want to sell it, but I don't know how much it is worth or the best way to go about selling it.
