Gold Plated Punch Bowl, Tray and cups

By JRMcDaniels, 14 October, 2009
Description

Engraved tray and punch bowl looks to have the pattern of Wild Rose Old. Tray has the number 274 on it. Punch bowl has feet and a lip with 'scroll work' with the Wild Rose Old pattern, #245; has feet. Cups have #246 on them and also designed with Wild Rose Old; they have feet as well. There is a ladle, has 'Vintage' engraved on the back, but the engraving definitely looks more like the grapes and vine of the Vintage pattern; pierced handle. I believe I found that piece on 'Replacements.com' for $200. It doesn't have the EGW&S symbols etched on the underside, like the rest of the pieces. This set, plus a chafing dish (I don't have extensive pictures of that yet) was part of a prize package when my mom was on The Price is Right show when it first started in the early 1960's (60-62) - - before Bob Barker :) Maybe the set is actually older than that, but this was when it was in our possession. I'd like to know dates and as much about it as is possible and it's value. Thanks! Jennifer M
