Hi all-
I'm new here and hoping someone can give me some information on this amazing floor lamp I scored today!
It's marked on the underside with Faries Manufacturing Company- Decatur Ill T 264. It seems to be a cast iron base (in a sort of art deco style) with the stem and shade made out of a lighter metal. There is a movable joint with little teeth on the bottom on the curved part of the arm and another adjustable area where the lamp shade and arm connect. There is also a wooden handle on top of the shade that rotates the lamp head as well. Fabric cord, not sure if original or not, but looks pretty old. Lamp works!
I'd love to know any information about the lamp itself, it's value, and it's original purpose. I've been able to find that it was most likely used in a factory of some sort- any ideas what kind of places used lights like this and for what?
Thanks so much in advance!
Jess
