Description This is a very nicely carved budda. Referred to as Happy Budda, he sits with one hand in his knee and holding something in the other hand, possibly a gemstone of some kind. It measures 1 1/2"x1"x1/2" and is in excellent condition. He doesn't wear the jewelry I've seen on other statues from the 1800's so I'm guessing since my father bought it when he was in the war, they may have been made later than the 1800's. I'm not sure if he got it in China or Japan. He was also stationed in Korea so maybe it came from there. Been doing alot of research for additional history and have several similar pieces all made in the late 1800's or early 1900's.
