Re: Japanese Incense burner

It's Japanese Moriage Satsuma, and based on the "made in Japan" marking probably no older than the 1950's, "Japan" as a marking was not in use until the 1920's and all trading ceased with Japan ceased during WW2. Most wares made after the occupation period following the war were labelled "Made In Japan". There should be a lid for this piece, do you have it?

Re: Japanese Incense burner

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Don't have a lid for it. The head of the aminal on one side and the tail on the other is broken off.

Do you think this is now worthless?
