Description

So what I have here is a Jay-pee med. slugger. I got it from a old friend who had obtained it from an at least 70 year old police officer, well retired one. Apperently they were issued to officers for a time period, id like to know the history and perhaps a price for this item. Its in fair condition. The item is a type of flap sap, which have a lead flat top, and handle, and is covered in old black leather. They were used to knock out people with a nice tap sap to the side of the head. Which made it easier for officers to take in fugitives. They have long since been abandoned as police equipment however, but new models are used for self defense. This item is very neat. So once again, i'd like to know some more history about the item, but what im really looking for is a price. Thanks.

Hey Kathy,

It seems you have already solved the mystery of the jay-pee med slugger and I noticed your expertise on antiques and badges on this site so I was wondering if you can help me out. I am perplexed by my item and I have no idea what it is, where it was made or the time frame it was made. Would you please take a look as I am very curious as to what it is worth. THank you very very much.
