Description

I have had this piano for approx 6 months and have done research on the maker and have found very little information the two things i did find i have included in the photos of the piano one a thanksgiving sale ad and another an ad for a Grand Promenade Concert given by the Band of the Eighth Mexican Cavalry. Other than that I have had a hard time finding any other information.  My daughter plays with it and it doesn't sound that bad all strings seem to be there and keys stick a little, and some of the ivory on keys has come off it is an upright grand and the model number is 18698

any information on this piano would be greatly appreciated

Dear southbayremodel,

Junius Hart was a piano dealer in New Orleans from approximately 1877 to his death in 1893. He was the southern region vendor for several brands including Emerson pianos - not sure what this one might be.

He also published sheet music and took the Mexican band mentioned in the poster on tour. I don't have space for a piano, but would you be interested in selling the poster? Please contact me if so.

Thanks and kind regards
Christopher
