Makeup vanity

By donbo97, 27 August, 2009
Description

This is 4 drawer makeup vanity and mirror. The mirror is 34" x 34" and quite heavy. Incleded is the stool. It must be at leasr 53 years old as I remember as a small boy. I have idea what its made of, other than wood and its shiny. It has some scratch marks "used" areas.

Re: Makeup vanity

My very first furniture purchase (1972) was made up of a very
similar vanity along with 4 other matching pieces. The mirror
to the vanity (like yours) was so heavy, it took 2 people to
carry it. There was also a dresser with another mirror and
a wardrobe. The matching bed had a footboard & headboard.
I got it at an estate sale (update NY). It was difficult to
sell after a year because of the space all the pieces took up
in an antique store. Because it wasn't mohogany or one of the
other more desirable types of hardwood, I sold it in the classifieds.
It had lots of small glass pieces inlaid as decorations. I believe
the set was maple.
