Description

This is a mantle clock that has been in my wifes family for years. I cannot find a mfg. name on the outside of it and I didn't want to take the works out. The works are all brass, the clock worked when we last used it. There is one small board on the rear back bottom that had been replaced.

These mantel clocks generally date from the 1880's to WW1, most clock companies mad a line of them, some clock makers more sought after than others. I can see what appears to be a name stamped on the back of the works in the bottom right image, what does it read? Get back to us and I'll see what I can find for you.

Yes you were right! It was made by the Wm. Gilbert clock Co Winsted, Conn. There is the  number 1903  a ways above the name.

Hope that helps

Dee.
