Hi.This is a strange piece that I'm please looking to gauge some sort of value for. It's a turquoise tureen with birds and relief flowers which look rather Capodimonte style to me. But then on the base it has a blue Meissen mark with an extra blue line through the middle? I'm not sure if this is perhaps a Meissen blank mark or not? It's also imprinted on the bottom JC with 22 underneath (the 22 is followed by a squiggle that could be a 5 or S but doesn't look like it really is), the imprint is too feint for me to pick up in a photo though. On the inside of the base and the lid there is three black lines, likely to indicate which way around the lid goes. There's numerous places of damage to the flowers, some crack on the inside and firing marks through-out the piece but apart from that it is in reasonable condition.Any information to help value or identify this piece would be very helpful, thank you.

Re: Meissen Blank Mark?? Tureen with Italian Capodimonte...
You'll most likely need to have this piece physically examined to determine it's origins. Meissen did indeed sell blanks with flaws to outside decorators, the cancelled mark could have as many as three lines across it, generally cut onto the porcelain body.
