I have two chairs from a dining set which was unfortunately destroyed in a fire. My grandparents bought the dining set at some point around 1950. I do not have an exact date.
The tag on the bottom of each chair shows “Hoover Chair Company, Lexington, North Carolina” and a 2-cent City of Detroit Department of Health Bedding Stamp. There’s some writing on the bottom of the chair itself which is unreadable except for “688”
Both chairs are solid but could use some cleaning up and reupholstering since the original orange fabric is damaged.
I’ve seen other Hoover chairs online but not this specific style which looks like a Danish design.
