Based on your images and description this piece appears to be a 1950's/60's Liquor decanter. Such decanters were issued by companies such as Jim beam and many others as limited edition "Collectibles". They were a very hot item uptil the 1990's, values have since taken a drastic tumlbe, most today sell for under $35.00.
