Mystery Rocking Chair

My grandparents had this chair in their northern WI home forever. Unfortunately, neither my mom nor I ever asked them where they got it. I can't find anything similar anywhere. The hand painted scene looks British but it could also be early Americana. I don't want to sell it, I'd just like some background on it. Thank you.
