Desks like these were pretty standard issue during the first quarter of the 20th Century. They are loosely based on the Mission style popular at the time and could be found in most offices and Government institutions. At auction they often sell for under $200.00. Lovejoy

lovejoy does it have a stamp on the inside of center dour on right or left? It reminds me of a teachers desk back in grade school,1970 +,and the desk was old back then.It looks like a Jackson desk built by Jackson desk Co.

$1,920 go to www.liveauctioneers.com , free registration, search on the "sold" tab for "standard furniture desk" .... desk very similar to yours sold a few years ago for the $1,920 mentioned .... Sotheby's

The problem is there is a great difference between the two desks, the one at live auctioneer is a "Top of the line" Mission style desk, the other one is a generic piece made for general office use like this one http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/1411174 , which could be found in most industrial/business/ school offices until the 1950's.
